Simply Grateful

I know it has been a long time since I posted … a week and then some.  I just couldn’t think of anything that could top the ultrasound picture is all.  And well, I still don’t have anything that can top it but I know that I need to put something else up here so that my mom can read something new.  :)  It is only right since she is my biggest blog fan.

I heard this afternoon about a young lady who miscarried her first baby and it brought me back to our first baby lost through miscarriage 8 months ago.  It is a sad thing.  As Loren put it “It is a really hard and difficult time” and I have to agree.  I know that this young couple will make it through and each day will get better but it reminded me of how blessed we really are in this life, and how our growing healthy baby seems somewhat undeserved.  Why we are all blessed beyond measure each and everyday is an amazing gift and to be thankful is the least that we can do.  And even though we all struggle in so many  areas of life, be it financially, spiritually, emotionally, psychologically and all those “ally’s”, life is good and God is good.  We are asked to journey through life and nobody would argue that it doesn’t have it’s moments of frustration and questions of what the point is, but really, I think that we need to look at the good and the blessings in each and everything, not to dwell on the negative.  Easy task?, not always!  Possible task?, most definitely!

I know that Thanksgiving is still a couple weeks away, but I just simply feel grateful tonight … grateful for the gift of life rumbling in my womb and for all the overwhelming work that I see as I look around this old house, and even the low balance in the checkbook … grateful because each day is a gift, and given the choice, which we are all given, tonight I chose to simply be grateful and I pray that I can do the same tomorrow.

  1. Simply, beautifully put! I agree wholeheartedly about gratitude. It’s the best attitude to have:)
    Punny, I know.

I’ll say a prayer for the young couple who have experienced the loss of their baby.

  2. I haven’t checked in with you for a while. I am so glad all is going well with the wee one. I am so happy for you and your family.
