We finally got around to feeding Miss Evelyn her first solid food this past week … turns out that procrastination doesn’t end when you have a baby. She was fine with the wait I think. Had it been chocolate that she was waiting for then we may have seen a revolt … but peas, she could handle the wait on peas.
Here is Miss E. before the process.
Do you see the excitement oozing out of her? She is such a fantastic baby and this is the joy we see “most” of the time.
Here is how it went “after” this happy go lucky girl had her first bit of mashed peas.
Do I need to explain anything?, or is it painfully obvious that our baby girl has her mother’s issues with texture?
Thankfully we learned a thing or two in this process. For example, the next time around she won’t be fed a bottle less then 2 hours before the peas, and we’ll add a little breast-milk to them which should help with the texture. And I also think that Daddy will feed and Mommy will take pictures the next time around.
Thankfully this baby of ours is tough as nails and the whole episode didn’t phase her too much … even after losing her pants to the laundry basket, and then watching Daddy clean up the table and mop up the floor she was once again her happy go lucky little self.
We don’t have any doubt that round two of peas will be great.
Oh, my goodness! The look on her face is priceless, bless her little heart!

How funny! She’ll be laughing at these pictures someday. I especially like the 3rd one…she looks like she’s praying for someone to have mercy.

I loved this post! Evelyn will have a well-documented life. It must be fun to have the technology to record it all so well.
