Candy Making 2009

I am officially done with the candy making weekend.  You know the one from “last” weekend? … good grief.  So the one day event spilled into over a week before all was cleaned up and ready to go.  And I guess technically I am still not done since the few things I did yesterday need to be packaged, but close enough.  The dishes are all done so that counts as mission accomplished.  It was a good day when family and friends were here last Saturday … I just love a full farm kitchen!

The complete list: white and chocolate coconut bark, peanut clusters, peanut butter cups, candy coated cashews, turtles, oreo truffles, candy coated pretzels, white peanut, raisin, and craisin clusters & candy coated oreos.  Yum.

We had lots of “failures” which is nothing new in this old farm kitchen, but the failures still taste good.  Farmer Neal will attest to that.  He has officially hit his excess sugar count for the year.

Happy week before Christmas to  you!

  2. All I can say is WOW! We’re making one batch of cut out cookies so Santa doesn’t starve. Yep, Michelle is still hanging in there with Santa! It’s called denial I think. :-)

  3. I think my pancreas just exploded.

  4. Candy making is so much fun. I had a ball making these homemade caramel apples by Martha Stewart. Perfect for Halloween!
