Farmer Neal took care of some fall gardening this past week. He was finally able to take a little time and get everything out and get it plowed. Our potatoes this year were mostly terrible but the carrots and beets did great … sort of the way it goes actually, when something isn’t great, something else is and we never know until the end of the season. After a little power washing the beets and carrots were put to rest in the basement.
First though after the washing, the tops of the carrots were cut off … you know with a table full of toys.
And … there were helpers … hence the toys.
After the tops are chopped off then they are layered in moist sand.
Goodnight carrots and beets … we’ll be enjoying you all winter long.
